In a rare update on the health status of Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, an Iranian official stated that the injuries he sustained from the American-Israeli attacks are 'superficial'.

Khamenei, who took over leadership at the age of 56 after the death of his father, Ali Khamenei, has not appeared in public since his appointment on March 8. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour, confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei was hospitalized on February 28 and suffered injuries to his face, head, and legs, without requiring amputations or major surgical interventions.

He also refused to eat during the Ramadan fast, which suggests a good state of health. Khamenei was discharged on March 1, and on May 7, the Iranian president announced a two-hour discussion with the supreme leader.

State television reported that he issued directives for the continuation of operations against enemies.
