Philippine seismologists reported an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9, which occurred in the south of the country, following a previous earthquake of 7.4 in the Mindanao region. The depth of the earthquake was 58 km. EMSC initially revised the magnitude, and the U.S. Tsunami Warning System issued an alert, warning that dangerous tsunami waves could affect coasts up to 300 km from the epicenter.
