The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of de-escalation and respect for international law, offering its good offices to facilitate a peaceful solution. Spain did not recognize the results of the elections on July 28, 2024, won by Maduro, which were contested by the opposition. The ministry also confirmed that Spain will continue to receive Venezuelan refugees fleeing the country for political reasons.
