Pedro Sanchez declared that Madrid could send, for the first time, troops to join the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, following the ceasefire. After the 'Coalition of Will' meeting in Paris, Sanchez announced that he would discuss Spain's contribution to the peace process with representatives of parliamentary groups. He emphasized that Spain, as a major European country, will participate in decisions related to a potential ceasefire and will contribute both to the reconstruction of Ukraine and to military capabilities.
Although he mentioned that it is premature to discuss the deployment of Spanish troops, Sanchez emphasized that Spain has demonstrated similar measures in other regions of the world. Other countries, such as Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, have also expressed their intention to send troops to Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement.
