SpaceX's decision to block access to Starlink terminals for unauthorized Russian units has generated confusion on the front, according to Ukrainian intercepts. Russian soldiers, who relied on the satellite internet network for coordinating attacks, found themselves without a connection, with one soldier mentioning that "everything is down."

This disruption led to a significant decrease in artillery fire and drone deliveries, complicating coordination among Russian units. Starlink terminals have become essential for both sides in the conflict, allowing for real-time transmissions and coordination of attacks. SpaceX disabled the illegally obtained terminals on February 4, at Ukraine's request, without affecting authorized users. This action helped Ukraine to reclaim territories and highlighted the difficulties faced by the Russians in quickly adapting to changes.
