The Central Court in Seoul issued an arrest warrant on Tuesday for Cho Tae-yong, former head of the National Intelligence Service, in connection with an investigation related to the declaration of martial law by former President Yoon Suk Yeol in 2024. The warrant was issued due to suspicions that Cho might destroy evidence. Prosecutors requested the warrant citing charges such as violation of the law prohibiting involvement in political activities. It is alleged that Cho was informed about the plan to impose martial law but did not report this to Parliament. At the hearing regarding the warrant, Cho denied all allegations. The court did not provide further comments.
