South Korea has been included on the DOE's list of 'sensitive' countries, along with China, Iran, Israel, Russia, Russia, Taiwan and North Korea, due to incidents of misuse of sensitive information. The US ambassador to Seoul, Joseph Yun, said this does not affect cooperation between the two nations. South Korea's industry minister will seek South Korea's removal from the list during a visit to the US. The decision was made by the Biden administration, and the South Korean Foreign Ministry emphasized that it was related to security issues, not foreign policy.
