A fire at a children's hospital in New Delhi, India, has led to the death of six newborn babies, while six others were rescued.

The fire broke out at New Born Baby Care Hospital and six babies died while being evacuated. A seventh baby died before the fire. The authorities have launched criminal proceedings against the owner of the hospital, and Delhi's chief minister warned that "the culprit of this negligence will not be forgiven".
