Siemens has announced the layoff of hundreds of employees from a subsidiary in Germany, citing changes in the market.

Siemens, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in the world, has decided to lay off hundreds of employees from Evosoft, a subsidiary specialized in software development for industrial solutions, located in Nuremberg, Germany. The company cited "fundamental changes in the customer and market environment" as the reason for this decision, emphasizing that operations will be moved to hubs in Hungary and Turkey, where costs are lower.

Employees were informed on May 20, and negotiations with unions are ongoing to find social solutions. Siemens announced that it has 2,000 job vacancies in Germany, but does not guarantee jobs for those affected.

The closure of Evosoft will be gradual, until 2027, and the company is facing a major restructuring, including the closure of its headquarters in Nuremberg. This decision reflects a broader trend of moving production to lower-cost areas.
