The capital of the island of Bali, Denpasar, and popular tourist areas such as Canggu and Ubud have been flooded, and over 560 residents have been forced to evacuate their homes. Authorities are warning about ongoing risks, with new storms forecasted. Meteorologists have explained that the torrential rains are caused by equatorial Rossby waves, amplifying the risks in the context of rapid urban development and inadequate drainage systems.
