Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu has arrived in Pyongyang to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, strengthening relations between Russia and North Korea.

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shouigu has arrived in Pyongyang to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as part of a visit aimed at strengthening security ties between the two countries. On his arrival, Mr Shouigu laid a wreath at a monument dedicated to Red Army soldiers. Relations between Russia and North Korea have intensified, with North Korean involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, where it is believed to have sent troops and weapons to support Russia, receiving military and economic assistance in return.
