The Security Service of Ukraine attacked the Russian oil platforms Filanovsky and Korchagin, causing the suspension of production.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) carried out an attack on the Russian oil platform Vladimir Filanovsky in the Caspian Sea, marking the second similar action in the same week. Long-range drones, operated by the SBU's Alpha special operations unit, struck both the Filanovsky platform and the Korchagin platform, both managed by Lukoil.

Preliminary information suggests that the attacks damaged essential equipment, leading to the suspension of production operations. The SBU continues its strategy to reduce the Russian budget revenues from the energy sector, and the frequency and precision of these attacks send a clear message to Russia: all facilities supporting the war will be targeted.

The Filanovsky oil field is one of the largest in Russia, with significant reserves of oil and natural gas. Ukraine has intensified the use of drones to target facilities that contribute to the Kremlin's war effort.
