Saudi Arabia has announced that it reserves the right to respond militarily against Iran, which has carried out repeated drone and missile attacks on Saudi territory.

The Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, stated that the kingdom will not yield to pressures exerted by Iran and that the attacks will be turned back against their perpetrators: “We reserve the right to undertake military actions if this proves necessary.”

Recently, Riyadh has been the target of new attacks, and the Ministry of Defense confirmed the interception of ballistic missiles. During a meeting of foreign ministers from Arab countries, the use of missiles and drones against civilian targets was condemned, reaffirming the right of states to defend themselves.

“Attacking Riyadh while a number of diplomats are gathering (...) I believe this is the clearest sign of what Iran thinks about diplomacy. It does not believe (in the importance) of dialogue with its neighbors,” said the Saudi minister.

The Saudi diplomat emphasized that escalating the conflict will lead to a similar reaction from Saudi Arabia and its Gulf allies.
