Serghei Shoigu, the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, warned the United States about the deterioration of strategic stability following President Donald Trump's announcement regarding the resumption of American nuclear tests. Shoigu emphasized that Russia is prepared to conduct nuclear tests at its test sites, including the one in Novaya Zemlya, but stated that it will not do so if the U.S. does not. Although no physical nuclear tests have taken place in recent decades, Russia continues to conduct digital simulations to maintain its capabilities.

Trump's announcement was made in the context of recent Russian nuclear maneuvers and raised concerns about escalating global nuclear tensions. The Kremlin mentioned that recent nuclear weapon tests did not include nuclear warheads.
