Vladimir Putin has announced the formation of a separate branch of the Russian Armed Forces dedicated to unmanned unmanned systems as part of a new weapons program

At a meeting on the state weapons program, Putin stressed the need to create a dedicated force for unmanned systems and improve air defense capabilities. The new program, for the period 2027-2036, aims to significantly increase ground forces. Although Russia had initial difficulties in the invasion of Ukraine, arms production has increased significantly. The military budget for 2025 has been set at a record level, accounting for almost 30% of total spending.
