The Russian secret services have provided Iran with a detailed list of 55 critical energy infrastructure targets in Israel that could be targeted by high-precision missile attacks, according to the Jerusalem Post. The report suggests an increasingly close military and intelligence cooperation between Moscow and Tehran, enabling Iran to launch precise attacks on the Israeli energy system.
The targets have been classified into three categories: the first includes essential electricity generation facilities, such as the Orot Rabin power plant, the second refers to urban and industrial energy centers in central Israel, and the third includes local infrastructure, including regional substations.
The Russian secret services believe that the Israeli energy system is vulnerable due to its isolation, and damaging key components could cause severe power outages. Ukrainian officials suggest that the information transfer aims to strengthen the Iranian ally and create a new crisis in the Middle East that would distract international attention from the conflict in Ukraine.
