At a press conference, the head of the Russian delegation, Vladimir Medinski, suggested to Ukraine to establish short cease-fires of 24 to 48 hours on the front line to allow medical teams to evacuate the wounded and recover the bodies of soldiers. This was part of the meeting between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations in Istanbul in the context of the peace talks that began in May. So far, the talks have led to prisoner-of-war exchanges, including the release of young and seriously wounded soldiers.
