Serghei Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, confirmed that Moscow does not have a timeline or deadlines to reach a peace agreement in Ukraine, stating that Russia 'is playing the negotiation theater'.
In a discussion with journalists, Lavrov emphasized that there are no deadlines, only tasks that need to be fulfilled. Ukrainian and Russian negotiators recently met in Geneva with American officials, in the context of diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict that began in February 2022.
The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, insisted on the need for a meeting with Vladimir Putin to discuss essential issues, especially the territories in eastern Ukraine. The Kremlin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, stated that such a meeting could only take place after the completion of negotiations. Diplomatic efforts have not yet yielded concrete results.
