The Russian Prosecutor General's Office has announced that Yale University is 'undesirable' in Russia, accusing it of aiming to destabilize the country and undermine the economy. The declaration bans the university's activities in Russia and risks criminal prosecution for Russians who collaborate with it. The Yale alumni include activists from the anti-corruption organization Anti-Corruption Fund, associated with the recently jailed opposition activist Aleksei Navalnyi. Russia created the list of 'undesirable' organizations in 2015 and now has more than 200 entities on the list.
