Russia and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to collaborate to facilitate a peaceful solution to the crisis in the Middle East, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. This decision was made following a phone conversation between Sergey Lavrov, the head of Russian diplomacy, and Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, his Emirati counterpart. The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination in foreign policy, based on international law and respect for the legitimate interests of the states in the region. During the discussion, the importance of immediately ending hostilities that cause casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure was emphasized. Lavrov condemned the recent attack on the United Arab Emirates embassy in Damascus, considering it a serious violation of the Vienna Convention of 1961 on diplomatic relations. Issues related to the development of the strategic partnership between Russia and the United Arab Emirates were also discussed.
