The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, discussed with the ambassador of Greece about the infrastructure that will connect Constanța to Alexandroupoli.

The Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban, had a meeting with the Ambassador of Greece to Romania, Evangelia Grammatika, to discuss strengthening cooperation in the field of transport. A central point of the discussions was the development of projects aimed at improving the infrastructure links between the Port of Constanța and the Greek port of Alexandroupoli, both having a strategic role in regional trade and security. The minister emphasized the importance of regional interconnectivity and mentioned that Romania will pay increased attention to financing these initiatives. Additionally, a multimodal corridor connecting Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece was discussed, with an estimated investment of 6 billion euros, which will include highways and railways. The project aims to improve trade flows and strengthen economic relations between the three states, with a completion deadline of five years.

"I had a meeting today with Her Excellency, Mrs. Evangelia Grammatika, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Romania. We discussed the initiation of projects to expand transport infrastructure, which would mean developing connectivity between the port of Alexandroupoli and the Port of Constanța, both very important commercially and strategically. I believe that regional interconnectivity is becoming increasingly important in South-Eastern Europe and in the Black Sea region, and Romania is paying increased attention to the financing and development of these projects," the minister stated.
