The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, intends to convey a message from the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during his scheduled visit to Moscow on May 9.

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Rastislav Hovanc, stated that Fico could obtain "valuable information" from Putin regarding the prospects for ending the conflict. Hovanc emphasized the importance of communication with all parties involved in the war and mentioned that European leaders should actively participate in negotiations for a peace agreement.

Although Fico will have a meeting with Putin, he will not attend the military parade. The Slovak Prime Minister stated that, despite some misunderstandings, both he and Zelensky wish to maintain friendly relations between Slovakia and Ukraine.
