Richard Branson, the British billionaire and founder of the Virgin Group, announced with sadness the passing of his wife, Joan Templeman, at the age of 80. In a message published on the Virgin website, Branson described Joan as "the most wonderful partner, friend, mother, and grandmother."
The two were married in 1989 and together had two children and five grandchildren. Richard recounted how he fell in love with Joan at their first meeting, highlighting her authentic character and her lack of being impressed by his fame. Joan was a constant support for Branson, who is known not only for his businesses but also for his eccentric adventures, including crossing oceans in a balloon and flying into space. Branson did not disclose the causes of death but emphasized the profound impact Joan had on his life.
