According to Eurostat, the share of renewable sources in the energy mix of the European Union increased from 52.7% to 54% in the second quarter of 2025, largely due to solar energy, which reached 19.9% of the total. Denmark and Latvia recorded the highest shares of renewables, while Slovakia had the lowest share. Significant increases were observed in Luxembourg and Belgium.
