Approximately 75% of European cities that have introduced a speed limit of 30 km/h have reported fewer deaths and road injuries, according to a Eurocities survey. The study on speed limits was based on responses from 38 cities in 19 European countries, including France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, and Germany.

The study shows that more than nine out of ten analyzed cities reported some positive effects on road safety in the short and medium term. City authorities stated that they recorded fewer accidents, deaths, and serious injuries for all road users, along with lower vehicle speeds and reduced noise pollution.
