Streptococcal infection has become a major concern in Japan, with a record number of cases of streptococcal toxic shock syndrome recorded last year. The causes of this rapid increase remain unclear, but some experts suggest that the lifting of restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic could be a factor.
