Ramzan Kadyrov was re-elected head of the Chechen Republic after all ballots were counted, receiving 99.85% of the vote, according to Russian media citing the Central Election Commission.

Official results published online show that the other two candidates each received 0.05% of the vote. The election also included Ismail Denilkhanov, chairman of the Chechen Public Chamber and a candidate representing the A Just Russia party, as well as Khalid Nakaev, a regional lawmaker backed by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

Kadyrov has led Chechnya since 2007 and has been re-elected three times. In the 2021 election, he received 99.7% of the vote, with turnout at 94.61%. In 2016, his result was 97.94%, with turnout at 94.8%.

International observation bodies have repeatedly said that free elections cannot be held in Chechnya. Ramzan Kadyrov is the son of Akhmat Kadyrov, the first leader of the region's pro-Russian administration, who sided with Moscow during the Second Chechen War.
