Judges in Paris have decided to indict Rachida Dati and Carlos Ghosn on charges of corruption and influence peddling. Dati, the culture minister, is accused of receiving €900,000 for consultancy services without any actual work, while Ghosn, who is under an international arrest warrant, is charged with abuse of office. Dati contests the charges as an instrumentalization of justice in the context of the upcoming elections. The trial could take place after the 2026 municipal elections.
