Qatar and Egypt on Sunday expressed their intention to step up efforts to relaunch ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip in coordination with the United States. Although Hamas is willing to begin indirect negotiations, its response to an American proposal was deemed unacceptable by US officials. Israel, at war with Hamas since October 7, has been facing international pressure to end the conflict, which has led to high casualties on both sides.
