Vladimir Putin has said that the whole of Ukraine belongs to Russia, saying Russian forces could advance on the city of Sumy to create a buffer zone. The Ukrainian foreign minister criticized the statements as evidence of Russia's contempt for peace efforts, pointing out that Russia already controls a significant part of Ukraine. President Zelenski rejected the idea that Russians and Ukrainians are one people and said that Russia does not want a truce and continues to plan to extend its control over Ukrainian territories.
