Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his willingness to have discussions with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, if there is political will from both sides, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The statement comes after Macron emphasized the need to resume dialogue with Putin in the context of international efforts to end the war in Ukraine. The last discussions between the two leaders took place in July, and Macron was criticized for maintaining contacts with Putin after the invasion of Ukraine, but later he hardened his position towards him.
