In Beijing, Putin stated that he has never ruled out a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, inviting him to come to Moscow for discussions. Although Putin mentioned that Donald Trump had inquired about the possibility of this meeting, Ukraine might reject the offer, considering security concerns. Putin emphasized Ukraine's right to ensure its security but reiterated Moscow's opposition to Kyiv's NATO membership. These comments come ahead of a meeting of Ukraine's allies in Paris.
