The Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared a ceasefire with Ukraine for the end of the day on Saturday and Sunday, in the context of the Orthodox Easter celebrations. The announcement was made by the Kremlin, after Kiev also proposed a halt to hostilities during this period.

According to the official statement, the ceasefire will take place starting from Saturday, April 11, at 16:00 local time (13:00 GMT) and will last until the end of the day on April 12. This decision comes at a time when both parties are seeking to reduce tensions and allow citizens to celebrate Easter in a peaceful environment.
