Dissatisfaction regarding the tourist complex developed by Jared Kushner continues to fuel anti-government protests in Albania.

A development project estimated at 5 billion euros has sparked outrage in Albania, due to its location near a protected wetland area that shelters species such as flamingos, seals, and marine toads. Protests took place in front of Prime Minister Edi Rama's office, where the crowd shouted "Albania is not for sale" and "A new Albania." Protesters criticized the lack of transparency of the project, considering it an example of the persistent corruption in the country.

Prime Minister Rama, in power since 2013, stated that the project will continue responsibly and that he has made progress in combating corruption. However, discontent persists, and recent protests have been fueled by corruption allegations against his deputy, Belinda Balluku, who was dismissed.

The project, initiated by Kushner and Ivanka Trump, has generated controversy and led to violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement forces.
