At the summit in Skopje, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos highlighted the Western Balkan countries' progress towards EU membership, underlining the importance of continued reforms. The six-billion-euro growth plan aims to boost economic development and integration into the European single market. Despite progress, the region's economies are at 35% of the EU average and each country faces specific challenges in the negotiation process.
