A private helicopter crashed into the sea on Monday evening, shortly after taking off from the Greek island of Sifnos, resulting in the death of the pilot and two passengers, according to a statement made by Greek firefighters.

The helicopter, registered in Greece, fell into the water, and shortly after, a fire broke out. The bodies of the three victims were recovered by rescue teams. According to the newspaper I Kathimerini, the accident occurred just seconds after takeoff from the nearby heliport. The recently hired pilot was on board along with a couple.
