Major power outage in eastern Cuba: several provinces affected after a failure at the Holguin substation

The state company Union Eléctrica de Cuba (UNE) has announced that the provinces of Holguin, Granma, Santiago de Cuba, and Guantanamo are affected by a power outage.

The incident was caused by a malfunction that occurred at the Holguin 220 kV substation, which took place at 20:54. Canal Caribe communicated details about the situation on social media, highlighting the impact of the malfunction on the electricity supply in the eastern part of the country.
