Serghei Riabkov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, stated that a new meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump is possible, asserting that "I do not rule anything out" in this regard. In an interview with International Affairs magazine, he mentioned that contacts between Russia and the United States have not been suspended and that the channels of dialogue remain active.
The last meeting between the two leaders took place in Alaska in August, but it did not lead to an agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Additionally, a planned meeting in Budapest was postponed. In this context, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed willingness to consider a new American peace agreement project, while Europeans reject solutions that could be perceived as a capitulation for Ukraine.
