In a message addressed to Jewish communities, Pope Leo XIV underlined his commitment to strengthening the Roman Catholic Church's dialogue with them, in the context of deteriorating relations with Israel over the Gaza conflict. The message was sent to Rabbi Noam Marans and refers to the declaration 'Nostra Aetate', which promoted a better relationship between the Catholic Church and the Jews. Vatican sources also reported the participation of Jewish leaders at Pope Leo's investiture Mass, as relations with Israel remain tense, especially after Pope Francis' criticism.
