The first group of Romanian firefighters has arrived in France as part of a pre-positioning mission to help manage forest fires in Pyrénées-Orientales. The mission, coordinated by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection, aims to strengthen disaster response capacity. Romanian firefighters carried out logistical activities for integration into the French intervention system and took part in best practice exchange sessions. The equipment sent included fire-fighting vehicles and a 3,500-liter portable tank. High fire risk is forecast in the area.
