Although the last week has been marked by important events on the political scene - the most notable example being the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Dragos Anastasiu - the digital reflection of the main parties in the ruling coalition has seen a setback. According to data from NewsVibe, an AI media monitoring platform, PSD, PNL and USR saw decreases in the number of mentions compared to the previous week, with only UDMR registering a very slight increase, at the level of the governing parties. A slight increase was also recorded by AUR.
Also in this interval, the Prime Minister announced reform measures in the area of pensions in the justice system, there were new reactions from PSD to the financing of local projects carried out through the Anghel Saligny program, as well as new foreign actions by President Nicușor Dan (official visit to Austria).Despite this context, PSD, PNL and USR registered decreases in the number of mentions compared to the previous interval, the most consistent being the references to PSD (over 30%).

COMPETITIVE VISIBILITY AND IMPACT. The competitive analysis engine created by NewsVibe evaluates the strength of political actors to penetrate the online space, directly compared to their competitors.
Albeit declining, mentions and the estimated impact of mentions of coalition parties categorically dominate - in both cases by over 90%. The drop in mentions of coalition parties has not been matched by a relevant increase in the opposition represented by AUR, reinforcing the party's visibility in relevant online sources.
From last week, both the total number of mentions of the parties and their estimated impact decreased.

NETWORK ANALYSIS. The tool created by NewsVibe - semantic network analysis - uses advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to build maps of interactions that highlight: the central actors in a conversation, the connections between them, the groups (clusters) of topics, concepts and influencers (personalities and organizations) that have formed around an event, topic or idea.

What the analysis shows:
- There is a dominant area, with the PSD as the central actor, with multiple internal connections, influenced by the main events this week that concerned the coalition or the relations within it: the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Anastasiu; PSD positions on the suspension of funding through the Anghel Saligny program; accusations of possible integrity problems of some PSD-backed members of the Government (such as Marian Neacșu).
- A second area in terms of relevance is built around USR, with connections to Nicușor Dan and party leaders like Dominic Fritz. In recent times, an area of public discourse is consolidating that implies a rapprochement between USR and Nicușor Dan.
- The NPL segment of the debate is rather isolated, with strong links especially with Ilie Bolojan.
- Discussions about AUR, with George Simion once again visible, have also occupied a distinct and consistent segment in the public conversation.
- Romania is a node ofconvergence of all discursive clusters, as a central element referred to in both governing and opposition messages.
SENTIMENT. The NewsVibe platform has created an advanced automated sentiment analysis system that uses specially trained AI algorithms and LLM tools to detect nuances of tone - favorable, unfavorable or neutral - in the context of references to entities relevant to an online conversation.

What the analysis shows:
- PSD remains the political actor most often mentioned in negative, polarizing, contentious contexts, lately this has been influenced especially by the Social Democrats' critical stances towards measures decided by the very government they are part of.
- Dragoș Anastasiu is another important actor presented dominant in negative contexts, following his resignation from the Government and the accusations that preceded it.
- Although not as prominently, the PNL is also in a similar situation, as a central actor in government.
- Albeit less intensely, there is a balanced mention, in both types of contexts, for political actors such as Nicușor Dan or Ilie Bolojan.
- Thematically, mentions in a positive context about NATO and US stand out.
