The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Poland has no territorial claims over Ukraine, neither at present nor in the future, thus rejecting the claims of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Poland fully recognizes Ukraine's sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders.

The Polish diplomacy characterized Moscow's insinuations about plans to annex western territories of Ukraine as an attempt at disinformation. Warsaw is a strong supporter of Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion of 2022, however, tensions between Poland and Ukraine have increased due to historical disputes related to the massacres during World War II. Putin's comments suggest an expansive vision of Ukraine's territories, including areas that were part of Poland before the war.
