In an interview for Polsat, President Karol Nawrocki stated that Poland should begin work on developing a nuclear defense strategy, in response to threats from Russia. Karol Nawrocki expressed himself as a supporter of Poland joining a nuclear project, emphasizing the need to comply with international regulations. He mentioned that Poland is on the brink of an armed conflict and that Russia's aggressive attitude is well known. His comments come in the context of several European states discussing the development of their own nuclear weapons, especially following statements from the Prime Minister of Latvia and the German Chancellor, which underline the importance of nuclear deterrence. Nawrocki added that Russia could react aggressively to any Polish initiative in this regard.
