Poland, under the leadership of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, has initiated discussions with France and a group of European allies to develop an advanced nuclear deterrence program. Tusk emphasized the importance of collaborating with friends to ensure national security, stating that this program will deter potential attacks from enemies.

The announcement comes in the context of French President Emmanuel Macron declaring that France will allow the temporary deployment of its nuclear aircraft in allied countries, as part of a new nuclear strategy. Macron mentioned that discussions have already begun with several European countries, including Poland, in light of growing concerns regarding U.S. defense commitments in Europe. France remains the only nuclear power in the European Union, highlighting the importance of these discussions for regional security.
