The agreement covers the modernization of the 48 F-16C/D Block 52+ F-16C/D Block 52+ aircraft received between 2006 and 2008, with the aim of improving combat capabilities and interoperability with NATO allies. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Poland has decided to allocate 5% of GDP to defence from 2026, one of the highest levels in the Alliance. This modernization will support air policing and regional defense missions.
