The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, has decided not to attend the inaugural meeting of the Council for Peace, recently established by Donald Trump in Washington, and he will send Marcin Przydacz, head of the Office for International Policy, in his place. The president's spokesperson confirmed Przydacz's participation, mentioning that he will be present only as an observer.

Poland refused to join this controversial body, expressing reservations regarding its composition and its powers. Initially, the Council was designed to oversee peace and development in Gaza, but it has been promoted as a possible successor to the UN. Among its members is also Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, which complicates Poland's relations with this body.
