Poland has asked the European Commission to open an investigation against TikTok, after the platform hosted content generated by artificial intelligence that promoted the country's exit from the European Union. Polish authorities identified this material as a form of Russian disinformation. The Deputy Minister of Digitalization, Dariusz Standerski, emphasized that this content poses a threat to public order and the integrity of democratic processes. TikTok responded that it has removed materials that violate the platform's rules and is in contact with Polish authorities. Poland has requested the initiation of procedures under the Digital Services Act, which requires online platforms to moderate harmful content, with the risk of significant fines for non-compliance with the rules.
