The US Department of Defense has confirmed the signing of a $200 million contract with Elon Musk's company xAI to use the chatbot Grok for government purposes. The contract, part of the "Grok for Government" program, comes after backlash over the chatbot's anti-Semitic posts. Musk admitted that Grok was "too obedient". The Pentagon has also awarded similar contracts to Anthropic, Google and OpenAI, emphasizing the importance of artificial intelligence for national security.
