The singer and actor Patrick Bruel has officially been charged by the Nanterre Court for four cases of sexual abuse, including one rape, dating back to 2008, 2010, and 2019.
Although the Prosecutor's Office requested preventive detention, Bruel was released under judicial control, having the prohibition of leaving France and contacting the victims.
The artist must prove that he is undergoing psychological treatment and must post a bail of 500,000 euros.
His lawyers stated that the artist is willing to cooperate with the justice system.
Everything started after Daniela Elstner, the general director of Unifrance, accused Patrick Bruel of sexually assaulting her and attempting to rape her in November 1997, during the French Film Festival in Acapulco (Mexico). She was 26 years old at the time.
