Members of USR, PNL, PSD, and UDMR have sent an open letter to Romanian leaders, requesting the normalization of relations with Taiwan, which have been stagnant since the communist period due to the "One China" principle. They emphasize that Romania is losing economic and political opportunities due to the rigidity in its relationship with Taiwan, having minimal investments compared to other countries in the region. The proposals include opening bilateral representations, negotiating an investment treaty, and adopting a parliamentary resolution to exclude the reunification of Taiwan with China by force.
